1. Overview

Nobris provides research security screening tools that help users conduct due diligence by cross-referencing entity names against publicly available U.S. government screening lists and other data sources. Nobris products include the paid screening platform (app.nobris.dev), the free Nobris Open Screen tool, and related services.

2. What Nobris Does

Nobris performs informational lookups against publicly available data sources including:

• OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control) Specially Designated Nationals List
• BIS (Bureau of Industry and Security) Entity List, Denied Persons List, and Unverified List
• NDAA Section 1286 and 1260H designated entities
• BIOSECURE Act entities
• International sanctions (EU, UK, Australia, Canada)
• Academic publication data via OpenAlex
• Other publicly available government screening databases as listed in our documentation

Nobris uses entity resolution techniques (including transformer-based models) to match user queries to entities in these lists. Nobris does not generate, curate, or control these lists. Updates to government lists may take time to propagate.

3. What Nobris Is NOT

• Not legal advice. Nobris is an informational tool only. Do not rely on Nobris results as your sole compliance determination.
• Not a warranty. We do not guarantee the completeness, accuracy, or timeliness of the data.
• Not a substitute for official channels. For regulatory compliance, you must independently verify results using official government websites.
• Not a compliance audit. Your organization remains responsible for compliance with all applicable export control, sanctions, and anti-money laundering regulations.

4. User Accounts & Subscriptions

Certain Nobris features require account registration. By creating an account, you agree to provide accurate information and maintain the security of your credentials. Paid subscriptions are governed by the pricing and billing terms presented at the time of purchase.

You may delete your account at any time via account settings or by contacting support@nobris.dev.

5. Data Sources & Attribution

Nobris depends on U.S. government data provided under public domain terms and other publicly available data sources.

• Attribution: Nobris results indicate the source list (e.g., “OFAC SDN”, “BIS Entity List”)
• Freshness: Government lists are updated periodically; Nobris typically reflects changes within 24–48 hours
• Redistribution: You may use Nobris results for internal compliance purposes. Commercial redistribution must comply with applicable government data terms

6. Privacy & Analytics

We collect minimal data. Screening queries are NOT logged or stored server-side. No personal data is collected unless you voluntarily register for an account. No third-party tracking is used. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• Nobris disclaims all warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement
• Nobris is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service
• Nobris’s total liability for any claim shall not exceed the fees paid by you in the prior 12 months (or $0 if you used free services)

This limitation applies even if Nobris has been advised of the possibility of such damages. Your remedy for any defect in Nobris is limited to requesting correction of the data or termination of service.

8. Intellectual Property

• Government data: OFAC, BIS, and other government lists are public domain and not owned by Nobris
• Nobris software & models: Copyright © Nobris, Inc. Licensed to you under these terms of use
• Your content: Any data you upload remains your own

You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract Nobris models or infrastructure.

9. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to Nobris at any time, with or without cause, including for violation of these terms, excessive or abusive use, or legal or regulatory requirements. Upon termination, your right to use Nobris ceases immediately.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms at any time. Material changes will be notified via email (if registered) or prominently on the site. Continued use of Nobris after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

11. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These terms are governed by the laws of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from Nobris shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

12. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force.
